Wanted level and police

Quick answer

A wanted level brings police to you. An emergency shift is a call you accept. They are not the same job.

Police car on the Aston street

Police in this city answer a wanted level. They are not the emergency shift you choose from the job list.

What raises it

Skip a light, sit in a bus lane on a taxi run, or keep driving after a trespass prompt, and the wanted level climbs. The car that arrives is the response. It is not a fare and it is not route 33.

Aston University posts its own line: trespassing, click to accept. That is the campus edge, not a passenger drop. Accepting it does not turn the campus into a job. Get back to a station road.

Emergency work is separate

Paramedic calls and a police patrol you choose are services jobs. You drive to the incident the game posts. That shift does not clear a wanted level you already built, and it does not stop the car that is already behind you.

After the stop

When the level drops, go back to a taxi drop or the 33 stop you still owe. Relearning the centre from a chase that dumped you in Hockley is slower than starting the next marked stop.
